Job Title:  Bakery Production Line Lead

Type : Full Time

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Reports to:  Production Manger

Salary Range: $41,000 - $43,000 annually  

Shift Schedule : First Shift (6:00am -2:30pm Sat – Thurs), Night Shift (4:00pm – 2:00am Sat -Thurs)

Job Summary:

We are recruiting an experienced and dependable  B akery Production Line Lead Packer for a  large commercial bakery in Brooklyn, NY . This position is responsible for leading and coordinating packing associates on a high-volume bread line while ensuring daily production, packaging, quality, and food safety requirements are consistently met. The Line Leader will assign employees for proper line coverage, assist the team during peak production, inspect finished products, verify labeling, dating, sealing and packaging materials, monitor line speeds, maintain production and QA records, and provide training and coaching to new employees. 

The ideal candidate will have previous  lead or supervisory experience in a commercial bakery or food manufacturing environment , strong leadership and communication skills, and familiarity with bakery and packaging equipment such as mixers, proofers, ovens, and sealers. Candidates must be comfortable working in a warm, fast-paced production environment, following  SQF, GMP, food safety, and Kosher requirements , performing basic equipment troubleshooting, and maintaining high standards for product quality and sanitation. 

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• Line Leadership & Supervision: Lead and coordinate daily packing associates, assign staff for efficient line coverage/breaks, and assist packers during peak runs. 
• Quality & Food Safety Compliance: Inspect finished bread/rolls, enforce SQF regulations (acting as QA backup as needed), and ensure strict adherence to GMP, food safety, and Kosher protocols. 
• Packaging & Orders: Confirm production orders, verify proper labeling, dating, sealing, and materials, and oversee product stacking onto trays or pallets. 
• Equipment & Recordkeeping: Monitor line speeds, conduct basic equipment troubleshooting, and accurately document daily production and QA records. 
• Training & Team Support: Train new hires on packing operations, safety procedures, and quality standards while providing regular coaching. 
• Sanitation: Maintain clean, organized work spaces, including sweeping, wiping down areas, and managing waste disposal. 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Prior lead or supervisory experience in a commercial bakery or food manufacturing environment preferred. 
• Experience or familiarity with bakery and packaging equipment (mixers, proofers, ovens, sealers) and basic troubleshooting. 
• Strong leadership, task delegation, and communication skills. 
• High attention to detail with commitment to food safety standards. 
• Ability to read English and execute basic production math. 
• Comfortable working in a warm, fast-paced production setting. 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, lift, and work in a fastpaced environment.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout a shift.
